Dear Colleagues and Friends
It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 16th annual meeting of the European Society for Computing and Technology in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care (ESCTAIC), to be held in Aalborg (Denmark) from the 7th to the 10th of September 2005.
The ESCTAIC date back to 1989, and is an established forum for communication between the clinical disciplines of anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine, and the technical disciplines including engineering and computer science. Since then 15 annual meetings have been held and the community of technologically interested anaesthesiologists and intensivists as well as medically oriented engineers and computer scientists continues to grow.
The 2005 conference programme promises to be exciting, including numerous prominent speakers covering topics including point of care technology, decision support systems, new biosensor technology, and workflow process support. The programme will also include tutorials with something for the novice and expert in this fast moving technological and clinical field. Socially, ESCTAIC regulars will hopefully recognize the usual warm informal atmosphere, and the best of all things local!
We look forward to welcoming you to our next meeting in Aalborg 2005.
Steve Rees
(Congress Chairman)
